The Michigan State Women's Basketball team took another step closer to the finish line Monday night with a 75-61 victory over Minnesota in the Breslin Center. It was their seventh win in the past eight games, and it leaves them one-half game out of First Place, with two games left to play. If the Spartans win both games, they will finish at the top (possibly in a two-way or three-way tie).
Michigan State was ahead with five minutes to play and held the lead, making them 99-1 when leading with 5:00 on the clock. It was their 50th consecutive win after leading with five minutes left.
The teams MSU has yet to play are in 8th-place and 10th-place in the B1G. They will travel to Northwestern on Thursday, then close out the regular season at home against Indiana Sunday night.
