Michigan State stepped back into the First Place slot in the B1G Basketball race on Sunday, as Michigan caught-up in games played and conference record. Both teams are now 8-1.
While UM currently holds the "tie-breaker" for conference tournament seeding, MSU now controls its own destiny. The Spartans can win the league by winning their own games, without any need for help.
It is probable that beating Iowa at home and Michigan on the road would be sufficient to capture the title, as both of those teams have more losses coming up on the schedule. But there's no need to get ahead of ourselves!
With Adreian Payne returning to action this week, and Branden Dawson expected back before those big games are played, the season is going very nicely in East Lansing. We can now return to "playing them one game at a time".
