HAIL TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN FOR FIGHTING AGAINST TRUMPISM

SpartanMan82 wants to communicate to the Michigan State fan-base as he works against the forces of evil that are propelling Donald Trump to attack Americans. He offers this comment:

-----

The University of Michigan has a few bad apples in their fan-base, and we have labeled them as "chUMps". However, upon examination, the vast majority of "chUMps" are actually supporters of the Trumps. Very few arrogant, loud-mouthed, abrasive, delusional, and self-promoting UM fans - - - those we call "chUMps" - - - are NOT Trumpists. The two groups overlap nearly 100%. Don't believe me? Just ask.

Next time you see an idiotic "chUMp" acting out in public, just ask them, "Excuse me, Mister Chump, did you vote for Trump?" While the chUMp reference may confuse them (they are easily confused), they will quickly shout out "Go Trump" or some similar epithet.

With this in mind, we should congratulate the Michigan student body and university community for standing up against Donald Trump at literally the first opportunity. Public protests against the Trumpists have spanned our country, from coast to coast, and the Ann Arbor area has stepped up to meet the challenge. There have been street marches in Ann Arbor that began within 48 hours of Election Day:

This picture shows how patriotic the University of Michigan student body is, as they responded immediately to our national crisis:

THIS PICTURE MAKES ME WANT TO SAY "GO BLUE"

The Wikipedia web site has compiled a comprehensive list of protests against Trump, dating back to last year. Since Election Night, Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan are well represented.

KEY POINT:  As much as we have railed against "chUMps" as part of our college sports rivalry, the Wolverines depicted above, in words and pictures, are most definitely NOT CHUMPS. They are great young Americans who are responding to the threat against our country in an organized, timely, and legal manner. Congrats to them for being who they are.

Note - SpartanMan82 has left this site to work against Trumpism. He now works for "Dump The Trumps".

THE SOLUTION FOR "SATELLITE CAMPS"

Everybody knows that Jim Harbaugh was using the Satellite Camp rules loophole to continue recruiting during the summertime non-contact periods. Observers and commentators from coast-to-coast have identified the behavior accurately. The recent NCAA crackdown on the tricky scheme was necessary to maintain a sense of regulatory order within college football in order to maintain competitive balance throughout all of Division One.

The first ruling may have gone "too far" and it may yet be tweaked (as soon as today), but it's been another eye-opener to watch the Harbaugh Disciples explain away the practice that - - - under today's rules - - - would be NCAA violations. These folks, and they are definitely chUMps, have been claiming that Harbaugh is holding these camps as some sort of charity event for underprivileged kids, with nothing to gain for himself or his school.

What a crock of chUMp-dUMpings!
Harbaugh is only out for himself, and he was using
the satellite camps to promote his program.
Period. End of story.

It would be the end except for all of the chips left on the table for all of the coaches to try to grab, so there could be another interpretive change on the way regarding satellite camps. While we wait for the next move on the recruiting chessboard, here's a simple way to solve the problem for everybody.

The NCAA need only adopt what we are calling "Satellite Camp Rule #1", as outlined below. You will see it is simple and to the point, and relatively easy to enforce:

Satellite Camp Rule #1
"No player who attends a satellite camp will be eligible to play football for the school that sponsors the satellite camp."

Adoption of the above rule would allow Harbaugh to continue his "charity work" unimpeded, bringing football scholarship opportunities to kids all over the country, provided that they did not ever attend the University of Michigan. Enforcement of this rule would be easy and simple, requiring little time or attention on the part of NCAA regulatory staff. An official attendance list would be submitted to the NCAA during each camp, and the attendees would be free to attend college and play football wherever they could, except for the institution that holds the camp.

Do I think that Harbaugh would like this rule? No I don't, because I know that he is using the satellite camps to recruit during non-contact periods. But according to the chUMps, this rule wouldn't stop him because it's viewed by them as selfless charity work for the good of otherwise helpless children.

The NCAA could add one more rule, to ensure that only the most good-hearted charitable coaches will run satellite camps. This would be "Satellite Camp Rule #2":

Satellite Camp Rule #2
"Satellite Camps may only be held during open-contact
periods for football player recruiting."

Rule #2 would ensure that the selfless charity of the coaches who run satellite camps would be socially and spiritually PURE, as coaches that run such camps would have to forgo their own team recruiting in order to do so.

We don't know what the NCAA will do next regarding satellite football recruiting camps, but we can be certain that adoption of Rule #1 and Rule #2 would quickly end any interest by Jim Harbaugh in doing them, whether he wears his shirt or not. And that would shut down the absurd claims by his lemmings that he is not out for himself when he runs these camps.

UM STILL TRYING TO GET 20th WIN OF SEASON

If you look up Michigan Men's Basketball in the standings you will see their season record listed as "20-10". So it appears as if John Beilein has followed-up from last year's "16-16" record with a 20-win season, right? NOT SO FAST, MY FRIENDS!

The Wolverines are  misrepresenting their season record for the second year in a row. You may recall that last year, UM played Hillsdale College and counted their (inevitable and unimpressive) win as a regular-season victory. But we have exhaustively shown that any game played by any Division One team against Hillsdale would have to be counted as an EXHIBITION GAME since Hillsdale is a Division Two program. That move tricked the sports media into reporting the Michigan season record last year as "16-16", rather than the accurate count of 15-16.

John Beilein is up to his old tricks again. His team played an exhibition game in November against Northern Michigan, another Division Two program. Of course, they won. But they counted the game as a regular-season victory, allowing them to now claim 20 wins instead of the actual 19 games they won against Division One teams. They may yet win 20, but they haven't at this point.

Don't believe me? Look at the screen-shots below, taken from a variety of legitimate sports-media web-sites that respect the NCAA's view of the matter. According to ultimate the ruling body, Michigan has 19 wins right now, not 20.

DOES ANYBODY REMEMBER A GUY NAMED JOHN BEILEIN? (the name sounds a little familiar)

Looks like the first order of business for new Michigan Athletic Director Warde Manuel is to put together a retirement package for John Beilein. Sure, the guy is a "Basketball Genius", but he missed the post-season last year and just got his ass handed to him on a platter in consecutive home-games against Indiana and Michigan State. Perhaps his star is, well, shall we say, FADING just a bit?

Again, we all know that Beilein is a "Basketball Genius" and all that, however, it will be up to Jim Harbaugh whether Coach John gets to stay around or not. Maybe Harbs will have a sleepover with Johnny to settle things one way or the other.

True, Beilein racked-up most of his career success in Division Two (and lower) Basketball, but he hasn't exactly been shutout at UM has he? He DID make the NCAA Tournament a few times, and even won a few games there. And he has five winning seasons out of his eight years as Head Coach of the Wolverines. Not too shabby for that vicinity.

Yes, JB has been ejecting prospective seniors from his team since he got to Ann Arbor, but he was just following the Jim Harbaugh Model of roster management. The key in the UM system is to get as many players out the door as often as possible in order to avoid having them stay around so long they start to stink up the joint. Or become Seniors. Whichever comes first.

Okay, he did just lose four consecutive games to in-state rival Michigan State, by a combined 53 points, but hey, what's a poor coach to do without SENIORS in his lineup? How can a guy expect to succeed without SENIOR PLAYERS? Beilein should be given time to recruit "his own players" before shoving him towards the exit. And that could still take awhile.

The Wolverine fan-base began to gang-up on Beilein in December with a littany of nasty on-line commentaries, then they quieted down a bit while UM went through the easy part of their schedule. Two home-court blowouts later, the chUMps are chomping down on Coach John again. We will carry a series of their wicked (turncoat) comments throughout the coming week.

Remember how nobody really noticed when
John Beilein was hired by the University of Michigan?

Is it possible that nobody will really notice when he leaves UM? Stay tuned, and we will find out!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE "SIX-OUT-OF-THE-LAST-EIGHT" CROWD? (THEY SEEM TO BE GONE)

Who can remember two years ago, when a large segment of the Michigan Basketball fan-base started talking about the "six-out-of-the-last-eight" winning record for John Beilein over Tom Izzo? Seems like a distant memory right now, doesn't it?

What happened to bring on that kind of talk? Well, it went like this:
UM stole a pair of one-point wins, than grabbed a few more single-digit victories, several with injured Spartans unable to play, and the next thing you knew, Beilein was a "Basketball Genius". The game record showed (technically) six wins in an eight-game stretch, and Coach John was anointed as the Pre-Savior, BH ("before Harbaugh").

SO WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? Four double-digit wins by the Spartans over the Wolverines, and now things look a little different than they did two years ago. Things look more normal now, thanks to the last four games:

  • MSU by 14 (3-16-14)
  • MSU by 10 (2-01-15)
  • MSU by 13 (2-17-15)
  • MSU by 16 (2-06-16)

We summed up the last 25 games between the two teams in this article, and you will find those four games in our list. The multiple beat-downs has had a cooling effect on the Blue Blowhards. Maybe they're not so sure about John Beilein anymore.

For your reference, we will summarize those last 25 games in a game-by-game "streak-format", showing all of the "streaks" you can add up. We don't have to cherry-pick an eight-game streak, or a 13-game-streak, or a 21-game streak. We will list them all, so you can select any you wish to use in any discussion you have with a Michigan fan.

Watch for the updated "STREAKS" article coming up soon!

MICHIGAN FANS CLAIM BASKETBALL LOSS TO HOOSIERS A "FLUKE", SAY UM ACTUALLY "WON"

Most of us thought that Indiana pounded Michigan in basketball on Tuesday night, but the Michigan fan-base has a new way of looking at it. Everybody could see the 28-point run by the Hoosiers wrapped-up that game early, but the UM Stats Team has crunched the numbers, examined the data, and come to a startling conclusion. They claim the Wolverines actually "won" that game, since the chances of a 28-0 run in college basketball are astronomical.

In other words, the 28-0 run by Indiana was A "FLUKE", and without it, Michigan actually won the game by a score of 67-52.

Well, now, that makes more sense, doesn't it? The chances of what Indiana did are so unlikely that the outcome doesn't actually count. That's "Wolverine Logic", as applied by so many chUMps so many times to the football game played on October 17 in Ann Arbor.

According to the laws of Science, results only count when they are repeatable. So, scientifically speaking, the 27-23 win by Michigan State over Michigan is not a true outcome. That's why UM actually "won" that game.

Same story with the Indiana basketball blowout. The Michigan Stats Team has determined that the odds of a team outscoring another team during B1G conference play, by 28 points to zero points, beginning at exactly the 9:08 mark of the first half and extending to exactly the 18:37 mark of the second half are approximately 9,749,258-to-1. In other words, it's impossible that would ever happen again, therefore, it didn't ever happen in the first place. Got that?

Based on this scholarly analysis, the UM Basketball Team is actually a #1-seed right now, for both the B1G conference tournament and the NCAA tournament. After all, any team that could knock-off Indiana by 15 points is a force to be reckoned with!

MICHIGAN FOOTBALL BOWL-GAME BUSTS

Have you noticed all of the Michigan fans strutting around, chins out, noses up in the air, since New Year's Day? Their team lost to Michigan State and Ohio STATE, finishing behind both teams in the standings, and consequently went to a "lesser bowl game" than either the Spartans or the Buckeyes. But since Alabama had it's Game of the Century against MSU, the chUMps are out in full force, acting like red is really their favorite color.

It's as if UM had never been whipped in a bowl game, right?
The chUMps are acting like it never happened to them.

But the pages of History are written in black-and-white, not yellow-and-blue. The REALITY is that blowouts happen once in awhile in post-season college football bowl games, as well as playoff games in all sports at all levels. So, the keep the record straight, we call your attention to a handful of recent bowl games in which the Wolverines were royally curb-stomped to end their season.

Washington 34, Michigan 14
1992 ROSE BOWL:  GARY MOELLER, UM Head Coach
Washington was ranked #2 in the final AP poll

Texas A&M 44, Michigan 20
1995 ALAMO BOWL:  LLOYD CARR, UM Head Coach
Texas A&M was ranked #15 in the final AP poll

Tennessee 45, Michigan 17
2002 FLORIDA CITRUS BOWL:  LLOYD CARR, UM Head Coach
Tennessee was ranked #6 in the final AP poll

Mississippi State 52, Michigan 14
2011 GATOR BOWL:  RICH RODRIGUEZ, UM Head Coach
Mississippi State was ranked #21 in the final AP poll

The victory margins in these bowl-game blowouts were not all 38 points, but none of these teams that pounded on Michigan won the national championship, either. Two of the winning teams did not even finish in the Top Ten, so those teams may not have been Top 20 opponents on their game-day.

The chUMps think they're better than everybody else, and they love to act like it. Please help them remember when they were on the other side of the blowout scores.
