The Michigan Women's Basketball team won their opening round match-up against Indiana Thursday night, advancing to play Michigan State in round two of the conference tournament. UM was the third higher-seed of the day to prevail, as the #7-seed over the #10-seed.
The Spartans and Wolverines met only once this season, at the Crisler Center. MSU won that game, 79-72. UM finished in a tie for sixth-place, while Suzy Merchant led her team to its second conference championship in the past four years.
The game will be televised Friday night by the Big Ten Network, with coverage starting at 6:00 p.m.
