Kodi Kieler, a 6-foot-6, 307-pound lineman from Rockwood and Carlson High School southwest of Detroit, received an scholarship offer today and verbally committed to Michigan State this evening, recruiting web sites are reporting.

Kieler visited Michigan State on Sunday as fall camp opened, and was called by Michigan State coaches today with the offer. He reportedly called coach Mark Dantonio to accept Monday night.

"Just being from Michigan and always watching them, and it's close to home and my mom can come watch the games and everyting," Keiler told "They won the Big Ten championship last year, which is awesome and hopefully they'll win more when I play there."

Kieler is the 14th recruit to commit to Michigan State and the third offensive lineman. He also had Big Ten offers from Purdue and Minnesota, as well as several from Mid-American Conference schools, including Western Michigan and Central Michigan.

Kieler previously attended a Michigan State recruiting camp.

"They need to check themselves... Pride comes before the fall... It isn't over. It will never be over..." ~Coach D after being informed of dUMb comments made by a chUMp.
