LT and Adams injured. First day in pads. New offensive line candidate.

Lawrence Thomas, a true freshman linebacker and gem of the 2011 recruiting class as the top rated high school player in Michigan injured his shoulder in practice. Although the injury was not serious, he could miss could miss up to two weeks. Those lost reps, snaps and drills increases the possibility that he could red-shirt this year. Line backers and special teams coach, Mike Tressel said that the lost knowledge and reps could reduce LT's role to special teams and it is unlikely they would burn a year of eligibility for special teams contributions.

Johnny Adams, a returning starter at cornerback was also injured. The bum ankle should only keep him out for a few days. Some say Adams is the fastest player on the team.

The Spartans escape first day in pads without further injuries. Edwin Baker was help out for precautionary reasons. Wide receivers coach Terrence Samuel really wants to get a look a Freshman, Juwan Ceasar (6-3, 197, but the Florida receiver is still trying to get healthy and has not participated in practice.

Junior college transfer, (related to the Peko's of MSU past) enters competition for offensive line.
