Fine ...Yes, I saw the disclaimer and posted anyway. Fine print is usually not read. :-)

As to clunky software, remember a guy by the name of Bill Gates who stated that no one could ever need more than 384k bytes of hard drive with a PC?

The same guy who put the date information with a 2-digit year that ended up a major to-do called the millennium bug? Almost crashed the financial industry over that minor short sightedness.

Then there was the Pope who decided to have 2 consecutive Jubilee Years to mark the beginning of the millennium. The first to sate the superstitious and the second to get it in the correct year.

The point being, if this is to be factual and correct, then it should be factual and correct, and that includes how to read a calendar.

I, for one, am tired of entitling the ignorant and you know exactly what I mean.

GO STATE!MSUSpartan76https://www.blogger.com/profile/01872614755970123409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160896203399392588.post-26917485368270368642016-05-02T12:19:54.611-04:002016-05-02T12:19:54.611-04:00YES! That's why I added the disclaimer right below the large graphic.

I remember the debate over this "way back when" and I take no side in the confusion. I will even concede your point, even though many don't count it that way.

If the century/millennium started on 1-1-01, then the series was tied before the last game, and now MSU would be ahead since then, or again, tied since 1997. I'm literally throwing them a bone with this one, just to circumvent the ensuing claims that I'm "padding" our record.

(That archaeological software was so clunky, eh?)American Reporterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18053609741082503574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160896203399392588.post-57131335713519620982016-05-02T10:51:13.616-04:002016-05-02T10:51:13.616-04:00Maybe infatuation would be a better word than favo...Maybe infatuation would be a better word than favoritism. In spite of popular favoritism with zeroes, the century and the millennium began on 1/1/2001.

Prior to computers, there was no 0 AD or 0 BC. It was added in shifting the BC dates because the archaeological software was not designed to handle the transition from 1 BC to 1 AD.

I believe the Naval Observatory is a credible authority on this.

http://aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/docs/millennium.phpMSUSpartan76https://www.blogger.com/profile/01872614755970123409noreply@blogger.com
